‘My favorite thing is to go where I've never been.’ Diana Arbus

I began to take pictures when I was nineteen years old and had no clue what photography was about nor what it meant to me. Through it, I met all kinds of different people I would otherwise never have met and went to places of which I hadn’t even dreamed of. After a while, I realized photography was a playground with endless possibilities.

I studied at the Academy of Photography in Amsterdam. After my graduation I worked as a photo assistant for different national and international photographers for several years.      Since 2001 I’m working as a freelance photographer for different clients; o.a. Heineken,  Clini Clowns, Canon, Parool, Gemeente Amsterdam, HvA.

Besides being a photographer, I'm also a filmmaker.  Film creates in another way a certain depth in my work. Film offers possibilities to come closer to the subject and emphasise underlying emotions.
